Northridge Capital was formed in 1997 to act as a private asset manager for a prominent offshore family investor group, assuming control of the group’s US and UK assets. These initial assets consisted primarily of commercial real estate, while also including private equity funds and direct private equity investments.
Over the next four years, Northridge came to focus exclusively on US commercial real estate, rebalancing its investors’ commercial real estate asset mix in favor of institutional quality assets, enabling greater liquidity and flexibility. With a substantial equity commitment from the principal investor group for continued portfolio growth on a proprietary basis and through pooled investment structures, Northridge expanded its activities to include asset management assignments for other owners and investors.
